Post-Holiday Hack: Turning down the volume!
If you find yourself regretting some of the noisier toys the kids got for Christmas this year, check out this post-holiday hack!
My kids got noisy light sabers for Christmas this year. And they were THRILLED. They absolutely love them! They’ve been battling all through the house ever since they opened them up.
Mommy, on the other hand, is going a little crazy.
Why is it that toy companies haven’t learned to install noise makers at a more sanity-sustaining level?!
That’s why I started using the hot glue gun to solve all our problems.
Did you know, if you cover the speaker holes in hot glue, the sound will still come through just fine, but at a more tolerable decibel level??
It’s a win win for everyone!
Tape also works wonders. If the speaker happens to be completely flat, a good packing tape works just as well to soften the sounds.
You know your kids better than anyone. Mine have never been bothered by the sound adjustment. If you feel like this might upset your child, be sure to run the idea by them first. Explain why it would be helpful to you, and considerate to everyone else in the room, if the noise were turned down a bit.
When mommies get sick, and sometimes they do, how do things change for me and for you?
