When Mommies Get Sick

Published in February 2022, shortly after our fourth battle with Hyperemesis Gravidarum. The entire book was written and illustrated during that final pregnancy, and is meant to serve as a guide to help the whole family when their mother falls ill. It applies to conditions as simple as a cold or as extreme as cancer.

Makes a great gift because, as every mom knows, we ALL get sick sometimes!

book written by woman with cerebral palsy

Anchored, Not Tethered

Ashley Overby may have cerebral palsy, but that has never stopped her from shooting for the stars and reaching for her goals. This book is a collection of her thoughts, experiences and creative writing samples - each given unique life and color by her disability, or "special ability," as she likes to call it.

This is a story of endurance, courage, love and second chances. Life with a disability is never easy, but Ashley has taken each experience with an open mind and learned all she can. She now shares with readers around the world what her life is like, which anchors help her soar despite her disability, and how her second chances at life have helped her develop the strength to give second chances to others.

This book gives an overview of what cerebral palsy is and what it is like to live with CP. Ashley explains in depth how this disability has affected her daily and family life, especially her rocky relationship with her father. She eventually chose to cut him out of her life, that is, until an unexpected door opened with an opportunity to heal their relationship and understand each other like never before.

Watching Over Angels

Watching Over Angels was miraculously published just days before author Carolyn Kasteler passed away in June 2022. It was her dying wish to publish a book about her experiences with and creation of the “Angel Watch” perinatal hospice program. This book is a treasury of experiences of families whose angel babies participated in the program, as well as a compelling overview of how this astonishing program came to be.

My HG Journal was created as a companion and safe space for women suffering from, and recently delivered from hyperemesis gravidarum. It is filled with beautiful images of succulents - a symbol of enduring love able to withstand ever the harshest of conditions - and is divided into relatable sections each containing writing prompts to help get the words flowing.

It also makes a thoughtful gift for friends or family who may be going through a hard pregnancy.
