General Conference Scratch Off Activity
Keeping the kids engaged for eight hours of Conference sessions can be tricky, but with a little advance preparation, you may be surprised at just how fun General Conference weekend can be!
One idea you may want to add to your arsenal this year is this General Conference Scratch Off Activity for kids.
The basic idea here is to fill in the boxes with treats and rewards of your choice, and then cover the incentive boxes with scratch off stickers.
It takes about 5 minutes to put together. All you need are a poster, a pen or marker, and scratch off stickers.
The stickers can be found at your local craft store, or you can find them on Amazon.com.
I’ve designed a poster, which is available for free download below. This particular poster was designed to be an 11x14 inch poster, with 2x2 inch scratch off stickers. If needed, you can scale it down to 8.5x11 and use 1.5 inch stickers.
When the big weekend arrives, the kids get to scratch off one box for every talk they listen to. Some rewards they may cash in immediately, some may be cashed in at a later time.
If it would work for your family, you may even have them tell you one thing they learned from the talk in order to earn a scratch-off.
Do one for the whole family, or print out individual posters with incentives suited to each participant.

Wait, what’s General Conference?
Well, I’m glad you asked!
Twice a year, members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints gather to listen to gospel discourses from the leaders of the Church. These discourses are given during five separate, two hour long sessions over two days - three sessions on Saturday, and two on Sunday.
The topics of discussion range from general organization and statistical information to doctrinal enlightenment and revelation. They cover topics such as finding joy in the journey, increasing faith, finding hope when all feels lost, how to increase personal purity, becoming a better disciple of Jesus Christ, and so much more.
One of the most exciting opportunities we have at these Conference sessions is listening to the apostles and prophets of Jesus Christ communicate to the world the mind and will of the Lord for us in this day and time. The messages are inspiring and uplifting, and for those wishing to receive personal guidance and direction from the Lord, General Conference provides fertile ground for receiving much personal revelation.
